Inaugurated by the Ministry of Administrative Development Labor and Social

New updates on Qatar’s Labor Laws that affect workplace safety were revealed for the first time at the conference. The growth in construction activity in Qatar in the run-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup has spurred an increasing focus on raising health and safety standards and improving worker welfare.

The Ministry is took the opportunity to discuss the amendments and clarify regulations and violations.

Conference Day 2
Inaugurated by Ministry of Interior – Qatar Civil Defence

As part of Qatar’s on-going efforts to improve its health and safety track record, Qatar Civil Defence addressed the importance of fire protection and highlighting the best practices to handle emergency situations.

Other noteworthy features of the conference included a Mock Criminal Investigation Process led by three expert lawyers from leading international law firm Clyde & Co. The implications of the launch of the latest version of Qatar Construction Specifications was discussed by Ehab Saleh, Senior Safety Engineer Quality & Safety Department, ASHGHAL, while Yasser Berzan, Safety Specialist Quality & Safety Department, ASHGHAL, talked about the authority’s third party approval list.
